Parents RSE Workshop
Thanks to the many parents and carers who attended the workshop which was held today at 10:00am. We hope enjoyed yourselves and gained a bit of knowledge as well!
Show Racism the Red Card Day
Next Friday, we will be taking part in a day of action "Show Racism the Red Card". As part of the days activities, pupils are encouraged to wear Red to school and donate a pound to help in the delivery of anti racism education.
School dinner payments
Please ensure that you keep on top of your school dinner payments as your balance easily adds up. If dinner arrears become very high then parent/carers will have to provide a packed lunch for their child until the arrears are cleared.
Polite reminder to all parents that the school car park is reserved for staff, transport buses and authorised visitors only. Due to the limited space and the volume of transport buses entering and leaving the school, it causes a build-up of unnecessary traffic and is unsafe for our pupils, especially those travelling independently. There are two roads available besides the school on which parents can park and then walk the pupil into the school.
You should have received a letter by now about giving your consent for the way we use photographs and videos of your child. If you have not already returned your form to the school office please do so. Parents who have not returned forms will be contacted next week as completing this is extremely important for your child.
Please read the Attendance Letter from Mr Cooper. (linked here) It outlines some of the reasons as to why your child's regular attendance at school is vital for their learning and achievement.
Term Time Leave
The school follows strict government guidelines and policy that means all unauthorised term time leave will be referred to your local Education Welfare Service which could result in you being issued with a fine. Please visit the Parents Zone of school website via this link, where you will find a form you need to download and complete to make a request for term time leave and please read the attached letter regarding Term Time Leave.
Makaton is a language programme that is used in conjunction with speech to aid the pupils’ understanding of language and help them communicate with each other more effectively. Makaton is used across the school in lessons and break times. We would love for you to learn some signs so that you can sign with your child. See the We Talk Makaton website for more.
