Woodfield Weekly Blue Sheet
Friday 20th December 2019
Dear Parents and Carers,
Seasons greetings from all of us at Woodfield School
This is our last blue letter of the term. hope you all have a safe and happy holiday. Please remember that school starts again on Monday 6th January 2020. Please get your child ready and back to school on the first day of the new term.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Farewell to Doreen Davis
After 39 years service our Catering Manager, Doreen Davis will be leaving Woodfield School.
We celebrated Doreen's time with pupils in the key stage assemblies where our pupils sang and had the opportunity to speak to Doreen. Doreen will be missed and we wish her a long and happy future
We have noticed a slip in the school uniform standards across Years 7-11 towards the end of the term. In particular, the following have started to appear:
Hoodies: (not allowed at all, even during break times and afterschool)
Coloured trainers: (plain black trainers are permitted, but the logo must be marked out)
Tracksuit pants: (must be plain black school trousers or skirt)
T-shirts: (white POLO shirt only - school mentors and council members are given different colours)
Please contact your form tutor if you are having problems with you child wanting to wear the correct school uniform and we will be able to help.
Nut free School
Dear Parents/guardians, please ensure if your child has packed lunches, they do not contain NUTS (Nutella spread, chocolate, yoghurts with nuts inside) We are a nut free zone school. Thank you for your co-operation. There is a section regarding school lunches on our website. Click here for details
Reminder to all parents/carers that we are a cashless school and take card payments via the School Money website or phone. Everyone should have received log in information via text by now, if you haven't then please contact Laila or Shilpa via the school office. We advise all parents to keep up with payments. You are able to pay in advance per week or per term, which ever method suits you best. If you have any questions regarding this then please feel free to contact Laila or Shilpa.
Due to a change in safeguarding regulations that came into force at the start of term, in addition to parent/carer details, we must have at least two other persons as emergency contacts for all our pupils. These people could be parents, a sibling aged over 18, aunts, uncles etc.
It is vital that we are able to get hold of a contact person in the case of a pupil emergency or illness. In the past we have had issues in contacting parents or guardians, which not only creates concern for the school but also makes pupils anxious.
The Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2019 document guidance has full details.
Therefore, we will be requesting this information from all parents/carers shortly.
Sufra NW London
is a charity based in Stonebridge which provides a food bank and community kitchen services to those in need. Woodfield School is now working with Sufra as a referral agency. We are able to issue a voucher to parent/carer to enable them to visit and be provided with a food parcel which contains a week’s supply of food for the whole family. If you require more information or assistance, please contact Patsy, our Parent Liaison Officer. Rest assured, as always, that meetings of this nature are treated confidentially.
