Half Term Dates
A message from Mr Cooper:
I have had some parents contact me recently with observations about Woodfield School Autumn half term break (29th October - 2nd November). Term dates for 2018-19 were shared with parents at the beginning of February 2018. As you will have noticed Autumn half term this year is different to other schools in Brent. A decision was made to adjust the half term break to ensure the two half term were as equal as possible in term of the teaching and learning days (first half term 7 weeks and 2 days, second half term 7 weeks). It was felt that this was in the best interests of the pupils and staff, as 8 weeks leading up until the December holiday is very long and difficult for some of our learners to maintain focus. I do appreciate the difficulty this may have caused for some of you who have children in other Brent schools and I do apologies for any inconvenience. I discussed this issue with Woodfield Governing Board last Monday and as a result will look to harmonise term dates with other Brent schools in future years. I will communicate any alterations to Woodfield term dates that differ to the set Brent dates that may cause issue going forward.
