The images and stories are the result of a 5-year investigation by Eyes on Animals, the Animal Welfare Foundation and Tierschutzbund Zurich. This is a growing business, with the top exporter being France, and it involves immense suffering for the animals, as the European animal welfare legislation on animal transport is ineffective and disregarded.
