WOMEN IN THE ARTS: A CELEBRATION OF FEMININE CREATIVITY

On International Women’s Day, we honour the feminine presence in the arts through an evening of poetry and music. Poet Fiona Sampson has worked with composer Luminița Spînu and radio producer Emma Harding to produce two books of poetry, 'Volta' in Romanian and 'The Catch' in English. They are joined by Fiona’s editor Parisa Ebrahimi of Penguin and by Dr Fiona Doloughan, Head of English at the Open University, to reflect on their fruitful collaboration, read poems, and explore the feminine sources of creativity.  more

HRH CROWN PRINCESS MARGARETA AT THE WOMEN OF THE WORLD FESTIVAL

We are hugely honoured to support the participation of HRH Crown Princess Margareta of Romania at the Southbank Centre’s Women of the World Festival, a global congregation of exceptional women. The Princess will converse in a panel entitled 'Hands on the Levers of Power' with Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, the President of Malta, Justine Greening, Secretary of State for International Development, member of the Cabinet, Harriet Harman MP, former deputy leader of the Labour Party, and Baroness Scotland, Secretary General of the Commonwealth. The panel is chaired by Jude Kelly OBE, the Artistic Director of the Southbank Centre.  more

fEAST THEATRE - A THESPIAN WEEKEND IN NORTH LONDON

We are partnering again with Gazeta Românească newspaper, the intrepid independent producer of musical and theatrical events, for a weekend of Romanian performances for all ages. The programme includes a puppets show by the acclaimed PUK Puppets Theatre, the one woman show 'Charlotte Salomon' with Andreea Bolovan, a theatrical potpourri based on Mihai Eminescu's poetry, and an original adaptation of Ionesco’s 'The Chairs' with Raluca Caragioiu.
