GLORIOUS VALENTINA NAFORNIȚA IN GALA RECITAL FOR THE NATIONAL DAY OF ROMANIA

One of the most celebrated voices of contemporary opera, the Wiener Staatsoper star Valentina Naforniţa graces our Belgravian musical stage with a Gala Recital honouring the National Day of Romania. The event, part of the 'Enescu Concerts' Series, opens with introductory remarks by H.E. Mr Dan Mihalache, the Romanian Ambassador to the Court of St James's. Also featuring award-winning pianist Sergiu Tuhuţiu. more

SHAKESPEARE ACCORDING TO VOLCEANOV

Visionary translator and editor George Volceanov, the driving force behind Romania’s most ambitious Shakespeare translation project in decades, joins an international creative ensemble gathered in Norwich to mark 400 years since The Bard's death. On 8 December, at the Writers’ Centre Norwich, George Volceanov together with novelist and filmmaker Xiaolu Guo and poet and novelist C.J. Driver discuss Shakespeare as a global cultural reference. Between 10-11 December, the renowned translator takes part in 'Shakespeare in Translation', a two-day workshop conference at the University of East Anglia.  more
