SPRING COMES EARLY AT THE ENESCU CONCERTS SERIES

Some of the most promising young Romanian musicians in London and their guests celebrate the coming of spring with an exciting programme of Enescu, Mozart and Mahler. The concert, part of our popular Enescu Series and offered under the patronage of HE Dr. Ion Jinga, the Ambassador of Romania to the Court of St James’s, is also a tribute to the perennial virtues of feminity, celebrated worldwide on March 8 through the International Women’s Day. more

PARIS OF THE EAST: AN EVENING OF FRENCH AND ROMANIAN SONGS

To mark the celebration of Francophone week, the Rimbaud and Verlaine Foundation, in partnership with the Embassy of Romania and the Romanian Cultural Institute, invite you to a wonderful evening of French and Romanian songs in the setting of the Institute’s beautiful building in the heart of Belgravia. The recital will be given by the brilliant young Romanian soprano Eliana Pretorian and prize-winning pianist Diana Ionescu. more

ROMANIA GOES JAZZY AT LONDON'S FAMOUS PIZZA EXPRESS SOHO AND VORTEX CLUB

Sorin Zlat Trio, one of the best known Romanian jazz groups in Europe, debuts in London this March at two of the capital’s most prestigious clubs: Pizza Express Live Soho and Vortex Jazz Club. The group has shot to fame on the international stage thanks to their surprising fusion of jazz, cool, bebop, classical, and contemporary music and their ever-growing repertoire of personal compositions. more

READING, WRITING, FORGIVING: TESTIMONIES FROM A VENGEFUL AGE

Join us for a conversation on violence and reconciliation in the company of freelance journalist Marina Cantacuzino, the author of the recently published The Forgiveness Project: stories for a vengeful age (Jessica Kingsley Publishers). The book examines timely subjects like forgiveness and conflict transformation, bringing to the fore stories of loss and reconciliation, as well as personal testimonies of both survivors and perpetrators of crime and violence in the quest for redemption and peace.  MORE

We are proud to join Pro Patrimonio Foundation, The Romanian Cultural Centre in London/The Ratiu Foundation and the Romanian Embassy in an offensive of charm and generosity set up to gather the necessary support in order to transform George Enescu’s birthplace home into a cultural centre devoted to musical excellence. The efforts to put legendary composer’s Mihaileni house on the cultural circuit culminate with a recital of charismatic violinist Alexandru Tomescu together with young and talented pianist Raluca Stirbat. more
