IMPETUOUS YOUNG PIANIST DANIEL CIOBANU IN CONCERT AT ST MARTIN-IN-THE-FIELDS

One of the winners of this year’s Scottish International Piano Competition in Glasgow, talented newcomer Daniel Ciobanu will perform the last act of our 2014 St Martin-in-the-Fields lunchtime concert series. His recital will include, alongside George Enescu’s 'Carillon nocturne' and Constantin Silvestri’s 'Jeux d’enfants', works by Domenico Scarlatti, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Frédéric Chopin. more

Twenty five years after the fall of one of the harshest dictatorships in Eastern Europe, we conjure a period of turmoil and redemption through theatre’s evocative flair. Great actor Ion Caramitru OBE, a central figure of the December 1989 Revolution, will reflect on the days of tragedy and hope that put an end to communism in Romania and ushered the creation of modern, democratic polity in a one-man-show as overwhelming as the artistic stature of its protagonist. more
