April News and Events from
WE Bike NYC!

WE Celebrate Spring this Month!

Last month WE talked about the spring rides that WE were looking forward to, and WE're still looking forward to them...and feeling optimistic that spring will finally show us its sunny and warm face this month!  From the 5BBT Training Ride to a Bike Touring clinic, we've got lots planned for you in April. Remember that spring, the season, is more than just the weather -- it's a state of mind! 🤪

On our radar: the National Bike Challenge starts next month! Stop by the Female Bike Forum on Facebook from time-to-time to get updates.
WE Can't Do It Without You!

WE Bike NYC is an entirely volunteer-run organization, but it still takes a bit of money for us to maintain our current standards of operation!
If you are looking for a way to support fun, free, noncompetitive bicycle events and programming specifically for women, please consider donating to WE Bike NYC!

WE Bike to Watch the Red Hook Crit

WE'll meet up at 7pm at Grand Army Plaza and ride together to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, where the race is taking place. Qualifying rounds take place all day, but WE'll get there in plenty of time to scout good spots along the course to watch the women's crit final at 8:30pm and the men's crit final at 9:30pm.

Bring your helmet, plus cash in case you want to buy anything from any of the delicious food vendors, and a lock in case you want to go to an after-party!

Note: This is an all-gender ride! Everyone is welcome.

5BBC Staten Island Perimeter Ride (21st Edition!)
Saturday, April 14
9:15am, South Ferry Terminal, Manhattan

More Info

As the title says, 5BBC will be going around the outside of the scenic Isle of Staten.  In doing this ride, they travel on some lovely bike paths, and some not-so-lovely local roads.  Much of the ride is flat but, being Staten Island, you know there will also be a nice sprinkling of hills.  Our last hill climbs up to Ft. Wadsworth for one of the best views in NYC.  This 42 mile ride will be at a moderate pace.
