Pure Energy lists on OTCQB Marketplace

As part of our plan to expand access to our stock to US traders, Pure Energy has commenced trading of its common shares on the OTCQB Marketplace under the symbol "HMGLF".  We expect this move, in combination with a comprehensive US investor relations strategy, will provide greater exposure and liquidity in the United States.  Pure Energy now trades on three international platforms: TSX Venture, Canada (PE), OTCQB, USA (HMGLF) and Xtera Germany (A111EG).
Pure Energy Releases NI43-101 Inferred Resource Estimate of 816,000 tonnes Lithium Carbonate Equivalent 
On July 28 Pure Energy reached a key milestone by announcing a NI43-101 Inferred Resource Estimate for our Clayton Valley Lithium Brine Project of 816,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent present as easily-extractible brine in two aquifers beneath our 8,000+ acres of claims.  We are extremely pleased with this report and believe this deposit is one of the more significant lithium exploration opportunities globally, owing to its size, physical nature (low-cost brine) and location in Nevada.  

The estimate is based on the depth of drilling to date (an average thickness of 300 m), however, the base of the lithium brine-bearing zone has not yet been encountered by drilling,  and geophysics suggests that it extends significantly deeper than the maximum depth drilled to date.  The next drilling stages with test the depth and potential extension of the deposit and explore deeper for recently discovered targets from our seismic survey.  

Pure Energy is undertaking pre-feasibility level work to better understand the economics and feasibility of using modern processing techniques to convert the Clayton Valley South brines into the high purity lithium products required for new energy storage uses.

Pure Energy Partners with SRI on Novel Lithium Extraction Research Project Funded by DOE
Funded by the US Department of Energy (DOE), SRI has teamed with Esmeralda Minerals LLC (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pure Energy) to develop and validate a new generation of highly selective ion exchange resins to separate metals from geothermal fluids more efficiently and at lower cost than current processes. Selective high-capacity sorbents have the potential to extract metals more efficiently and lower the cost of production of lithium materials. The research will be conducted using lithium-enriched brines collected from our lithium brine project in Clayton Valley, Nevada.

If successful, this proof-of-concept work will transition into pilot-scale testing, will the ultimate goal of providing a commercial solution for low cost lithium extraction from brines.  This early-stage research is not viewed as a alternative to the Tenova Bateman or POSCO processes that Pure Energy is currently evaluating because the technology development timelines are not aligned with the Clayton Valley Project.  However, we are very excited to be working with SRI on this cutting-edge research, and we will jointly own any innovations resulting from this work with SRI.

Albemarle's Positive Q2 2015 Earnings Report Highlights Tight Lithium Market - Forecasts Higher Pricing in 2016

Albemarle is one of the largest producers of specialty lithium products, and their recent earnings report for second quarter 2015 demonstrated significant growth in sales and very healthy EBITA margins for their lithium business.  

Lithium sales were up 26% compared with second quarter 2014, and EBITA margins for lithium were 43%.  Two key drivers for growth were volume increase in battery grade products and increased pricing in battery grade and other lithium products.  Of note were a 30% increase in year-to-date global battery electric vehicle sales, which has been consistent with Albemarle's sales trends.

During questions, Albemarle's CEO Luke Kissam indicated that companies "are pretty much sold out of battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide".  Mr. Kissam also noted that although the cost of lithium in a battery is around 2%, it is critical to its function, and thus he "feels good about the opportunities for lithium pricing in 2016".  Albemarle stated they are currently communicating with consumers to ensure that the market understands the pricing expectations in 2016. 
Booming Nevada Lithium-based Economy Targeted by New Electric Car Factory

Nevada has been enormously successful in expanding their resource and gaming-based economy towards high-tech manufacturing, and upon completion and full ramp-up of the Telsa/Panasonic Gigagfactory, Nevada will soon be responsible for the majority of the world's lithium battery production.  Governor Sandoval and his Office of Economic Development have demonstrated that the state can provide the competitive fundamentals to make it a natural choice for large-scale manufacturing.  And with the only active  lithium mine in North America at Clayton Valley, and numerous lithium prospects, Nevada is naturally positioned to fully capitalize on the growing lithium economy.  

Thus it's not surprising to see the upstart pure-electric vehicle company Faraday Futures announce that Las Vegas, NV has been shortlisted as one of four potential locations for its first production factory.  The California-based company has an impressive management team with roots at Tesla, BMW, GM and Space-X, and their product is expected to launch in 2017.  A final decision on the factory location is expected in Q3 of 2015.  

The Guardian Claims it has Confirmed Apple is Building Selfing-Driving Car

Apple is building a self-driving car in Silicon Valley and is looking for secure locations in the San Francisco Bay area to test it, the Guardian has reported. Documents obtained by the Guardian under a public records act request show the Apple car project appears to be quite advanced, and Apple is seeking a secure testing facility for their vehicle.

In May, engineers from Apple met with officials from GoMentum Station, a 2,100-acre former naval base near San Francisco that is being turned into a high-security testing ground for autonomous vehicles.  Apple was seeking information about leasing the facility.

GoMomentum Station is on the old Concord naval weapons station, a disused second world war-era facility with 20 miles of paved highways and city streets. The base is closed to the public and guarded by the military, making it, officials claim, “the largest secure test facility in the world” for the “testing validation and commercialization of connected vehicle (CV) applications and autonomous vehicles (AV) technologies .”  

The evidence for an Apple car in development continues to mount, as does anticipation for another revolutionary Apple product.
