Your events mean new schools for kids in Haiti

New PCD donated classroom in HaitiA team of four NZ volunteers spent three weeks in Haiti in April, building a three-classroom school facility at the Henri Christophe School in rural Haiti.

The pre-fab building, along with medical, educational and other aid supplies, was shipped by the Foundation from New Zealand. Extra strengthening and ventilation has ensured a strong structure suited to the weather conditions in Haiti.

The project is immensely appreciated by the community who expect to see up to 80 more children now able to be accommodated at the school.

New classrooms and resources for kids in Nepal

NZ Honorary consul to Nepal, Lisa ChoegyalNZ Honorary consul to Nepal, Lisa Choegyal joined children at one of the early childhood centres in Dyali for Purple Cake Day celebrations in March. She was most impressed with the Purple painted classrooms and teaching methods. Local parents are delighted with the positive changes in their children who now love going to school.

Our project partner in Nepal, First Steps Himalaya received Purple Cake Day funding that enables them to open four Early Childhood Development Centres and fund five first year primary school projects!

Funds from Purple Cake Day 2013, will support even more children at these schools as the trust extends support to second year primary school children.
