Kids helping kids, all around the world!

Purple Cake Day preparations are underway for this Friday (24 March) when we kick off our fundraising year with our Global Day of Action. This is the day when all around the world children, parents, friends, aunties, grandparents are reminded to "celebrate children", and raise money to help kids who are less fortunate than themselves.

We recognise this global day, but as you know you can go 'purple' any day of the year you like. In fact, several of Woodlands PreSchools in Hong Kong have already had their day of cupcakes, games, purple, painting, colour, fun, and fundraising. And it looked amazing! This group of Montessori preschools are a huge supporter of Purple Cake Day. It's always great to see how they celebrate.
We heard from Papatoetoe NZ too where kids have also gone purple already. Thank you!
And Nelson College for Girls have a purple mufti-day tomorrow.

In Nepal...

...our project partner, First Steps Himalaya, has some amazing plans for 2017. Since the earthquake in 2015, they have continued to work at a grassroots level, meticulously and painstakingly making sure that fundraising goes into projects that are directly benefitting and supporting children and their early education needs.

In Haiti...

“7 years ago we had a vision to create Haiti's future leaders with 51 children aged between 4 and 5 from a nearby tent camp, who might otherwise have had little or no access to an education. Today we have progressed beyond our wildest expectations. Despite extreme adversity, these children are thriving.” – Children of Haiti Project.

Thank you Purple Cake Day people for your support.

How many ways can you say purple?!

Violet, plum, lavender, lilac, mauve, mulberry, magenta....... Purple Cake Day gets celebrated in an amazing amount of ways – creative, colourful, cheerful and challenging. It's up to you. Have fun! And be sure to let us know what you get up to.
