We're excited about simple and fun ways to "go purple"
this year for children in Haiti, Nepal
. Let us know what you are planning, it's always great to hear from you. Some ideas are below. And, make sure you watch the inspiring 1-minute video of Shristhi
at the bottom of this email, she's one of the children in rural Nepal whose education we fund.

When do we 'go purple'?
Good question! Our global day of action is 7 March - but you can go purple ANY day of the year. For instance, the Laughing Yoga class at Victory Community Centre is on Wednesdays, so they're turning their Wednesday laughing yoga session "purple". (I wish we could see a video of that one!) Session runs 5.30 to 6.30 Wed 5 March
Give a Little - Change a WHOLE LOT of LIVES
Because you can go purple any day during the year, we've set up a new online fundraising tool (and there are zero fees thanks to the Telecom Foundation, which means Purple Cake Day receives 100% of every donation!)
Give A Little is a free, safe and easy way to run sponsored Purple Activities that you promote through your family, friends and workmates to receive online donations.
Go to : http://www.givealittle.co.nz/org/purplecakeday to donate directly. OR, add your purple Event and become a Champion for Purple Cake Day! Email us if you need any help.
Purple mufti days are a simple way to introduce the theme to a school.
Last year, Nelson Boys College surprised everyone by having a purple mufti day and a cupcake sale - the pictures are priceless! Could your school or place of work do a "purple mufti day"?
Nelson Central School are busy learning the Purple Cake Day songs ready to perform on the day. You can do this too. Download the songs HERE complete with chords and lyric sheets.
A group of keen young 5 and 6 yr olds are in training for their very own sponsored mini-triathlon
- swimming, biking and running. Fantastic initiative from our littlest Purple Cake Day Ambassadors!
is the time the purple bootcamp crew
are assembling at Tahunanui Beach in Nelson Saturday 1 March. Attendance will "kick your butt" and help provide education for children in Haiti, Nepal and Kenya at the SAME TIME!
After that, YogaLab & Studio Evolve
in Nelson are doing a special 2 hour Purple Restorative Yoga Session on 7 March 5.45-7.45pm.
"Two hours to slow yourself down, whilst supporting children in need." Book it in now via the link
. Much love to the yoga crews!
Hong Kong Goes Purple
We're excited to hear that Hong Kong's Woodlands Montessori schools
are 'going purple' for the third year in a row. You are wonderful, thank you!
We are posting daily updates. Are you going purple? Let us know on our page

And it's always great to meet the children we are supporting. Say hello to Shristhi. She is able to attend early childhood education in Nepal thanks to our partner project FIRST STEPS HIMALAYA
In this 1-minute clip you see a snapshot of her life, and the big difference a simple change can make. Leave us a comment to tell us what you think - Namaste! http://youtu.be/XB87FYVnuDo
