Creating projects of true distinction takes the collaboration of an entire team. Hanover® Architectural Products is proud to have been chosen as part of the team for the Pennovation Center project.
The University of Pennsylvania’s Pennovation Center creates an atmosphere for co-working and collaboration among entrepreneurs, researchers and innovators from a wide range of disciplines such as robotics and biotechnology. Located in the heart of a 23-acre campus redevelopment plan known as Pennovation Works, the adaptive reuse project maintains the industrial feel of the former DuPont building. The building is characterized by bold angles as is the landscape architecture and graphic design.
The bold, dynamic paving design is characterized by vertical lines and “backslashes” alluding to coding characters and technology-focused projects. A chevron pattern was also incorporated into the design to aid in direction and way finding for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. To achieve these unique paving designs, DAVID RUBIN Land Collective chose Hanover’s Traditional 4” x 8” Prest® Brick in three custom colors with a Square Edge Tudor finish. Hanover® is known for the ability and willingness to adapt to the requirements of each individual project.
Detectable Warning® Pavers in a complimentary color were used to create a seamless transition from pedestrian to vehicular areas.
In the end, collaboration and teamwork of all those involved created a project of true distinction. The design is a result of a successful creative process between Hollwich Kushner Architecture, DAVID RUBIN Land Collective, Bruce Mau Graphic Design and the use of Hanover® Pavers.
