Where Business Begins in Iowa.

Hi there <<First Name>>,

November is here, and it's already time to get ready for the holidays. But as a small business owner, you have a lot on your plate this time of year... and maybe right now the holidays feel a little more like the most overwhelming time of the year instead of “the most wonderful.” So if you start to feel a nagging sense of exhaustion when you look down the barrel of your schedule for the next two months, this one's for you!

5 super simple tactics you can use to live into the holidays:

Practice small acts of kindness.
Smile at the grocery store clerk, leave a tip for the barista, say thank you to the person who holds the door for you at the gas station. Small, indeed. But we all need more genuine gratitude in our lives, especially in busy seasons!

Buy coffee for a coworker ‘just because’ one day this week
Or if you are a business owner and have the flexibility to take your team out to coffee or lunch this week we think that would be a big win for you too because food fuels community and connection. Don’t you agree?

Shop at the small business down the street
It helps you feel happy and your neighborhood small business owner feel happy too. Small Business Saturday is November 24th, get ready for the big day. (Wanna feel even better about shopping small? Read on... why I shop local).

Schedule a block of mandatory recharge time once a week for the rest of the year
Have you noticed how your weekend schedules at this time of year book up weeks in advance? Take back some time for staying healthy and rested. Grab your planner and treat this recharge time like a weekly appointment for the rest of 2018. This simple practice helps bring back some sanity to your life. Do it now, & thank us later.

Decide your holiday priorities and feel good about your ‘yes’ and ‘no’ when holiday invites come
This way you will have the freedom to make cookies with the kids, meet new business clients, or whatever else your priorities might lead you to act on! When you prioritize the things that mean the most to you and your community before the holidays start, you have a a great chance to be more satisfied with your life and happier with your business efforts this holiday season. We hope you get to make the most of what can be a really great time of year.

Do you have a great idea to make the most of the rest 2018 to add to our list? Let us know how you keep stress at bay, connect with new people, and make your days a little more merry and bright -- we might include it in a post on our Facebook page next month!

Keep Building,
