A Letter from our President and CEO

Dear Associates and Supporters of the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg,

It’s been a summer of enrichment and adventure for our college and high school interns this year. They are hard at work organizing the 2022 International Young Leaders Conference, and they’ve opted to hold it as a virtual event again this year. The students have decided to spend much of the day discussing issues they consider vital for their futures and that are some of the toughest problems facing our age.

Their theme,”Saving Our Future” will take up the question of gun violence and COVID-19, and their devastating impacts on youth and education. And they are not neglecting to look around the globe, including at the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Please do register to learn about these important topics and support our young leaders. They’re got a stellar lineup of speakers, and these students are not afraid to ask tough questions to make up their own minds. Click HERE to register for the webinar:

And for those of you with a hankering for international travel this fall, join us as we head to Bulgaria! We’re organizing a great tour of a beautiful country, and WACH Treasurer Eliz Nestorov, a native of Bulgaria, is helping to organize the tour and arrange high-level meetings for WACH’s delegation.

Once again, thanks for helping us connect Pennsylvania’s capital region to the world!

Our team is helping keep our community healthy and safe in providing factual information about COVID-19 and vaccines.

We also partnered with Temple University to promote vaccinations in our community. Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 will be one of the best ways to protect yourself and your community. The more people who get vaccinated against COVID-19, the better it is for everyone. By stopping the spread of COVID-19, we can keep businesses, schools, and other venues open. Stopping the spread of COVID-19 gets us closer to the end of the pandemic.
