Barrel Aged Mariana Trench Imperial Stout is coming in September. Details will be released soon so be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook or our website to get that information when it is available.
It's getting to be that time of year. Last week we welcomed back our popular fall seasonal, Isle of MaGourdo. We decided to get things started a little earlier than we did last year to give everyone a chance to get a hold of our popular pumpkin ale. The perfect amount of pumpkin and spices in this amber ale lets you celebrate an early start to fall. ABV: 5.5% IBUs: 18
Currently available on draft and in canned 4 packs in our taproom and in distribution.
Due South Employee Spotlight
We'd like you to get to know John. He has been brewing at Due South since January 2015.
What is your education & brewing background?
I hold a bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University, as well as an International Diploma in Brewing Technology from Siebel Institute Chicago/Doemens Academy Munich.
You moved from Chicago to Lake Worth for this job at Due South. How did that happen?
After a dismal winter in the cold of Chicago, my wife asked me to look for jobs in warmer climates. Her family spends time in West Palm during the year and I thought it would be a great idea to look for jobs around the area. Mike and I emailed back and forth for a few months and we finally found time for me to come down and brew with the team.
How do you think Due South has changed since you arrived?
Part of what draws me to Due South is the fact that we are in a phase of rapid growth. The amount of beer between a small brewery and a medium sized one can be a lot, along with improving quality control. I like how we have added new equipment (tanks, new bottler, walk-in) and procedures (yeast control, better clarification) to try to continue to make the best beer we can.
What is your favorite/least favorite part about being a brewer?
My favorite part of being a brewer is the fact that I am doing something that I am passionate about and that I get to make a product that people enjoy. My least favorite part is the humidity, but the joys vastly outweigh the weather.
What is your favorite Due South beer and why?
Mexican Standoff, because the flavors are amazing.
We are starting a new feature that will be included in each month's newsletter called Featured Retailer. Each month we will spotlight a retail provider out in the market that we think deserves your attention.
For the inaugural edition of this feature we have selected a location right here in Boynton Beach, Two George's Waterfront Grille. Located directly on the intracoastal waterway just off of Ocean Ave, Two George's has been supplying freshly caught seafood and cold refreshments for over 50 years.
In addition to Two George's offering some of the freshest, most delicious seafood around, they have a great Happy Hour Monday through Friday starting at 3pm with draft beer and food specials. Local, live music takes the stage every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for your entertainment.
Two George's Waterfront Grille has been a supporter of Due South since our opening in 2012 and currently carries our Caramel Cream Ale and Category 3 IPA on draft along with Category 5 IPA in cans. Head to the water to enjoy some great food and beer. Tell them your friends at Due South sent you!
