Trench Day is Almost Here

Trench Day 2017 will be Saturday, January 21st 2017 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. in the Due South Brewing Co. taproom. To make this day as special as the gold medal winning beer it celebrates, the event will feature unlimited samples of exceptional, hard to find beers in an intimate setting.

Only 300 total tickets will be sold.

Because of this unique event, Due South Brewing will be closed to the public on January 21.

Your $50 ticket will include admission to the event, a commemorative tasting glass, one (1) bottle of 2017 Mariana Trench Imperial Stout, and unlimited beer samples, including many rare releases from Due South and other Florida breweries.

Be sure that you bring a physical printout or the digital copy of the ticket. If you are purchasing for multiple people be sure they have a physical printout or are together with you upon entry.
Bottle Availability
Attending Trench Day is the only way to guarantee a bottle of Mariana Trench. You will also be able to purchase bottles of Trench during the event:
  • 2016 Mariana Trench - $16, no bottle limit, while quantities last.
  • 2016 Barrel Aged Mariana Trench - $19, no bottle limit, while quantities last.

FAQs
What is so special about Mariana Trench?
Due South's Mariana Trench is an imperial stout brewed with cocoa nibs and vanilla beans that comes in at 9.8% alcohol by volume. Released annually in January, it won the Gold Medal at the 2014 Best Florida Beer competition in the Imperial Stout category.

What if I don't get a ticket for Trench Day?
Due South will be closed to the public all day Saturday 1/21/17 and will only be open 3 to 6pm for Trench Day ticket holders. Only Trench Day ticket holders, not the general public, can purchase Mariana Trench bottles on 1/21/17.

Will I be able to buy a bottle of Mariana Trench but not attend Trench Day on 1/21/17?
Only Trench Day ticket holders can buy bottles on the release day of 1/21/17. We may have a very small number of bottles left on January 22nd (after festival attendees, volunteers, and employees get theirs). Bottles are $15 each + tax.

Can I volunteer to help on Trench Day and what do I get?
Currently, volunteer positions are open for Club members.

Can my wife/husband/designated driver/friend come in without a ticket if they aren't drinking?
Unfortunately no. You must have a ticket to enter the event. We must do this to control the number of people present. We do encourage everyone to be safe and use public transportation like Uber or you can utilize the Tri-Rail.

Are you sending any Mariana Trench into distribution?
Yes & No. A limited number of kegs will be released so you will be able to find it on tap at some select FL locations. Bottles will only be sold in the Due South tasting room.

Can you send some to Oregon/Texas/Botswana/Fiji/Etc?
While we are flattered that you would want our beer, Mariana Trench bottles are only available at the taproom.

Will there be food?
We will have food trucks here 3 to 6 p.m. Price of food from the trucks is NOT included in your ticket cost.

Where should I park?
We will have some parking at the brewery, but we still encourage people to use the Tri-Rail system. The station is about a 10 minute walk from the brewery.

Can I bring my kids?
No one under 21 will be allowed to come to the brewery for Trench Day. This includes babies and small children.

Can I bring my dog, cat, etc?
No animals are permitted. We love our four legged friends as much as you but we cannot allow them at the event or in the taproom.

Can I bring my own beers to trade/share?
No. We will have plenty of special offerings for Trench Day. No outside beverages are allowed at the brewery.

Will any growlers/crowlers be filled and will any beer be available to go?
There will be no growler/crowler fills at all during Trench Day. Fills will continue on Sunday, January 22nd. Due South beers in cans and bottles will be available for sale to go.

Will there be any tours?
There will not be any tours during Trench Day. We will resume tours on Sunday, January 22nd.

Girls Scout Cookie Pairing

January 25 will be a decadent night at Due South Brewing Co., as we will be pairing some of our flavorful beers with an assortment of Girl Scout Cookies. The pairing event will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (or while supplies last) and, for $8, will include three 5 ounce beers and three cookies, all chosen and expertly paired together by our staff.

Simply order at the bar, no advance tickets necessary.

In addition, $1 from each pairing sold will be donated to the Girl Scouts of America. For those that want to keep the party going, Girl Scouts from Troop 20177 will be on site from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. selling boxes of cookies to take home.

It's a unique event that's not to be missed!

Featured Beer

Midnight Marauder

Black India Pale Ale - 7.7% ABV

This January release brings copious amounts of dark malts to lend an extra coffee-like roastiness to the bitter and hop-forward flavor profile of an India Pale Ale. What's created is simply a masterpiece; It's an award tour of bitterness.

Midnight Marauder is available on draft at the brewery along with a limited release run of 12 ounce cans.

Get it now while you can, and let this beer maraud your taste buds.

Jordan

This month we are featuring bartender and tour guide, Jordan. He's a Certified Beer Server in the Cicerone program and an avid advocate for those less fortunate: he started the West Palm Beach chapter of Food Not Bombs, served as a Palm Beach County official on the Homeless Advisory Board and has sat on the board of directors for the county's Homeless Coalition.

What's your favorite part about giving tours?
Broadening people's understanding and appreciation of beer, it's rich history and plentiful styles. I try to give people the best tour they've ever had and my goal is to try and have each person that comes on a tour with me walk away with something they didn't previously know regardless of how many brewery tours they've taken.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Everywhere. I love experiencing other cultures and exploring new places. Everywhere has something special and unique to it, as do people. Plus, there's nothing like finding a delicious locally made beer in some far off land.

If you could join any famous person from history for a beer, who would it be and why?
Louis Pasteur. Not only was he a humongous beer fan, he discovered yeast and was probably the single most revolutionary person in the development of brewing beer. Without him, we might not have the wonderful world of beer that we do today.

What about Due South keeps you coming back?
I love when it's a person's first time experiencing craft beer or coming to a brewery. I enjoy introducing them to real beer and helping them find something they can really enjoy, which Due South makes very easy to do.

Favorite Due South beer?
Bourbon Barrel Aged Mariana Trench. It's aged in Woodford Reserve barrels and is rich, delicious, dark and bold.
