To Comfort always, to Relieve often, to Save sometimes
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Hope’s Heroes

In May 2011 we received an email from LeAnne McKenzie. She said: I am in China and was just placed with my new daughter, yesterday. I am traveling with a group with CCAI. I was told that my new daughter Emerson Scott McKenzie "Emmi" was at Hope. I would like to personally thank you for everything that has been done for her over the last 16 months. It is so cool to see how God has been answering our prayers even before we had been matched with Emmi.  Our prayer was that she would be loved and taken care of, and it is obvious that those things happened for her.
Now that Chinese New Year is over, children are being admitted to hospitals all over the place. This month we are especially grateful to the MedArt team from Hong Kong who came to provide medical care and surgery to 17 children in our care. Below is a picture of one group of children and their nannies ready to go for treatment.

Camden and Harryl left for Suzhou for neurosurgery which will be done by Dr Yu of the MedArt team. Emman had is cleft lip repaired, organized by his CWI. Below are his “Before” and ”After” pictures. New babies Chilton and Xenith had emergency surgery as soon as they were admitted.

We have many children who are born with very complex heart conditions. We try to build up their strength to get them as healthy as possible to improve their chances of undergoing major surgeries. We search for the best possible options for the children by meeting with the hospital staff and working with surgeons that we trust but the risks are always high. Whenever they go in for surgery, we are extremely anxious knowing that the outcome may not be what we expect and that we could lose them but we have to rest in the knowledge that we are doing our very best and their precious lives are in the hands of our Father. Rose and Angel were admitted to hospital in Beijing and Quinton and Quesha were admitted to a hospital in Shanghai for heart surgery. Torie went to Hangzhou for heart surgery but unfortunately her heart condition has been deemed inoperable. Her only hope now is adoption.

Confirmed Adoptions and our Hopes for adoption:
From left to right below is a picture of Gian with his new Mom. He was in our care when he was only 14 days old. We are overjoyed that he, with a big smile on his face, is now in the arms of his Forever Family. Hannah and Joy returned to their orphanages to await their adoptive parents. They have both had all their surgeries and are doing well. May was picked up by her forever family and Joy II was returned to her orphanage to prepare for adoption. We have been told that Cherry has been matched to a family.

Special Care Centers Jiaozuo, Luoyang, Xin Yang and Zhengzhou, Henan Province:. These Centers provide humane and loving, hospice care for infants and young children with severe congenital defects who are unlikely to survive under normal circumstances. Those who survive are unexpected blessings.

Zhengzhou ( Show Hope Special Care Center)

Shane passed away peacefully. Despite early surgery, aggressive medical treatment and several hospitalizations, it does not seem that baby Yanka with Biliary Atresia will survive. We are making her as comfortable as possible. Jensen, Chilton, Micah, Xenith and Jayda were admitted.

Xinyang ( Show Hope, Open Arms and Alexandria Yeo Special Care Center)

Daniela and Harryl were admitted

Luoyang (Maria’s Big House of Hope )
