Big Stuff webinar - Coatings

ONLINE WEBINAR: Big Stuff webinar with the title Coatings for industrial heritage

Monday 12 April 2021 at 12:00 (GMT)

The Big Stuff large technology conservation community are starting a series of webinars. Online is a great way to keep talking between the Big Stuff conferences. These webinars will run twice a year, with the first one kicking off on Monday 12 April 2021 at 12:00 (GMT).

The webinar is open to anyone - register here by sending an email expressing interest through the Big Stuff Contact page. Big Stuff will send you the link in early April. These webinars are intended to get delegates talking. There will be a short talk to introduce the topic and to get things started, and then the “floor” will be open for participants to share thoughts and experiences. To start off for this first seminar Eva Wentland, an emerging Big Stuff conservator, will introduce the controversial topic of coatings for industrial heritage, with an emphasis on heritage exposed outdoors. The aim is to exchange experiences: which coatings do you all use? How can their performance be assessed after long-term exposure? How laborious are subsequent maintenance measures? Are they even possible?
