Project title: Lancashire Textile Industry – ACE CRF skills training project
Fee: Maximum fee of £8,000
Contract: Period of 20-25 days to be completed on or before 31 March 2021

Lancashire County Council Museum Service have an ACE Culture Recovery Fund grant for the textile industry collection and need some support from experts. They are seeking to recruit industrial heritage specialists in the field of the Lancashire textile industry. Specifically specialists in:
Operation and maintenance of condenser spinning mules (714 spindle Taylor Lang machines), carding engines (William Tatham breaker and finisher cards), opener and scutcher etc. Spinning cotton for demonstration and production in a factory setting
Operation and maintenance of stationary steam power production including: 1901 Lancashire boiler, steam raising & maintenance. Providing steam to run stationary steam engine;
1896 500 HP horizontal tandem compound steam engine. Providing power to run weaving shed
Individual or joint applications are welcomed for specific or combined roles.
Candidates must be expert in their field. They must have good ICT skills, be well organised, flexible and enthusiastic, with good written and verbal communication skills. There is a maximum fee of £8,000 including all expenses and insurance for each role over a contract period of 20-25 days to be completed on or before 31 March 2021.
