FROM THE PRESIDENT

What a difference 2 months makes! Back then, who could have imagined the carnage we have witnessed in Ukraine and the increasing inflation at home.

As we prepare to remember the Passion of our Lord and celebrate how He overcame death by his resurrection, let us unite in prayers of thanks for our wonderful gifts and blessings. And let us pray especially for all Ukrainians for relief from the unbelievable misery and anguish they have endured.

As Pope Francis said to the world’s bishops on March 21st, “The outbreak of the war in Ukraine… is daily inflicting immense suffering upon its sorely tried people and threatening world peace. I am grateful to the many people who have responded with great generosity to my appeals for prayer, fasting and charity.”

In recognition of this FCAPP has issued an appeal to members and friends to help with Pope Francis’ charitable support in that region. If you are able, please contribute using the following link: https://capp-usa.org/donate/ (under Specify Your Donation, select “Pope Francis Ukraine Fund”).

May you have a most blessed Holy Week and joyous Easter. As always, we welcome your suggestions or comments at my email, ffakharzadeh@capp-usa.org.

Yours in Christ,
Frederick F. Fakharzadeh

WHAT HE'S READING

I happened to pick this book up by chance as a gift for a family friend. After reading parts of it I decided to get our own copy. Science and faith work together to give deeper meaning to the source and summit of our faith – the Eucharist.

Available on Sophia Press here and Amazon here.
The exclusion of religions from the public sphere…impedes the encounter of peoples and their collaboration for the progress of humanity. The life of society is drained of its motivation and politics assumes oppressive and aggressive features”.

LET US PRAY

Loving Father, you gather us together in this time and place. Send your Spirit to be with us and open our hearts to do your will as we make this journey, dedicated to evangelizing your Word through Catholic social teaching.  Help us with your grace to embrace this new evangelization with faith and love. May it empower us to recognize you and to bear witness to your presence in the world.  We ask this through the intercession of our founder, Saint John Paul the Great and Our Lady of Fatima, with her son Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
