A brilliant Summer to you, Nakayoshi volunteer! 

we're writing to you from the docks of Pacifica, CA with its clear blue skies, rough ocean waves and frigid winds. Now that's a Bay Area Summer if you ask me! if the cold Summer weather's not your cup of tea though, perhaps joining Nakayoshi for our upcoming events will be. Check out those events below and be sure to visit ol' Pacifica sometime. Quite the jewel around the corner from San Francisco.

6/4/16 [Volunteer] Nichi Bei Soy and Tofu Festival at the Event Center at Saint Mary’s Cathedral

The annual Soy and Tofu Festival--organized by our local Nichi Bei Foundation--is coming up in June and we need your help at the Nakayoshi Cafe! 

We have two primary responsibilities: 1) storefront, and 2) kitchen/cooking duties. Please sign up for your desired role via the Google Sheet.

Don’t miss this opportunity to serve our community together and give back to a great cause!

6/25/16 [Social] Nakayoshi Welcome BBQ 2016

SAVE THE DATE! Nakayoshi Young Professional's 8th annual Welcome BBQ event will be on Saturday, June 25th at 11am to 4pm
  • It's a FREE event! Feel free to bring your friends, co-workers, and anyone else who would be interested!
  • Meet Nakayoshi members, learn more about Nakayoshi, and make new friends from the community
  • Please let us know what delicious dishes, snacks and/or beverages you'll be bringing for our potluck by filling out the following Welcome BBQ Potluck list

Please note that, on Saturdays from April through September, John F. Kennedy Drive is closed to vehicle traffic from Kezar Drive to Transverse Drive). Visit official park site for more details.---
There is a free parking lot available but limited in spaces. Free parking is also available along John F Kennedy Drive.

Public Transportation:
Take the 28 to Fulton & Park Presidio OR 44 to Tea Garden Dr / De Young Museum and enter the park.

July 8 - Mixer at Hue SF Lounge and Nightclub, hosted by Kimochi, Inc

Kimochi, Inc will host a mixer event on July 8th at Hue SF lounge and nightclub from 8PM to 2AM. It will feature a DJ and positive rap battle program that will take place at 10PM. Please keep an eye on their calendar for more information as the date gets closer. 

Kimochi, Inc. is a non-profit organization based in San Francisco’s Japantown. Since 1971, Kimochi, Inc. has promoted an intergenerational philosophy of care for seniors and their families.  The word ‘kimochi’ means ‘feelings’ in Japanese and is reflected in the culturally sensitive programs and services provided to our older generations. While Kimochi’s focus is Japanese-American and Japanese-speaking seniors, our doors are open to seniors of all ethnicities. Kimochi, Inc. provides free congregated meals and social services to 3,000 seniors each year.

No, we didn't shrink. In fact, Nakayoshi was in full cooking mode making Spam Musubi for the JCCCNC Kodomo no Hi. Thanks to all our volunteers! More photos.
