October with spirit at Still Cellars...
View this email in your browser
October 2016.

a month most elegant in autumn hues and harvest, cooling temperatures, and warmest light. of darkening and shadows, pumpkin patches, and cauldrons of stew. of costumes and mischief sweet and remorseful. a time to tend inward, by hearth, and to crunch paths into fallen leaves. of sipping spirits, weaving tales, and still, the light of the moon.

Distillery Dapples and Tidbits...

lucky number 13!
Whiskey barley barrel number thirteen has been proofed, bottled, labeled, and is ready for your discerning palate!

It enters brightly, tantalizing... it dives into warm vanilla and caramel depths... it lingers, teases, taunts... slides seductively into exotic earthy bitters...
Come sample the full sensory spectrum of our latest batch of single malt, single grain, single barrel deliciousness!

October Music on Wednesdays and Fridays!
as usual there is NO COVER for live music on Wednesdays and Fridays. come support and celebrate local and visiting music!

The Brothers Sull

Wednesday 10/5, 7pm-8:30ish

It is our tremendous pleasure and privilege to welcome this unique pair of precious rare performing gems. Treat yourself to an exceptional experience, and join us for an evening of music and poetry by the Brothers Sull. The evening will include the haunting 12-string Guitar of Chuck Sull and live readings from “Forgotten in Time: Poems from a Penman’s Time” by Michael Sull.
Chuck Sull is a master 12-string guitarist whose music flows with soothing arrangements reminiscent of the 1960’s Folk era. A resident of Lutz, Florida, he has had a love affair with 12-string guitar instruments for 50 years. His most recent album is “Requiem for the Wolfhound”.
Michael Sull is a Master Penman whose work with 19th century script has revealed countless adventures of our country’s Golden Age of Penmanship. Through his narrative ballads, the listener is transported back in time to the forgotten lore and legends of America’s past writing masters from a century ago.

Ben Hanna
Friday 10/28, 6:30pm - 8:30ish

A Still Cellars favorite, please join us to welcome back the loud, the quiet, the soft, the hard, the funny, the tragic, the wise, the foolish... Ben Hanna! With a unique literal and figurative voice, let this local singer/songwriter take you on a Friday evening journey to remember. Heck, wear a costume if you want. He is brimming with originality; a rare and valuable commodity these days,Hanna cranks out music he describes  as “Post-suburban Americana” “kids songs for adults” and  “punchy folk”. Taking an abnormal approach to phrasing, he carefully crafts lyrics around uncommon- yet socially relevant  topics like social media, modern romance and unusual vice. Hanna sites artists Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, The Violent Femmes, Todd Snider as his greatest musical inspirations, but make no mistake,  he’s carved out a distinct sonic lane all his own. We love and adore Ben Hanna, and so could (should) you.

Rachel Ann Harding
Friday 11/4, 6:30pm - 8:30ish

A grand delight, an understatement, to be welcoming back multi-talented performance vixen Rachel Ann Harding! She's a professional storyteller, a musician, a writer, and an explorer. She weaves these all together to a point of true beauty creating a "delightful, folksy, avant garde" sound that blends fine vocal harmonies on the ukelele and looper to create melodies that connect the heart and the ear. It's magic! It carries through you." Looper extraordinaire, come soak in the sweetness.

Not afraid to bend genres, Wilson has been drawing on a diverse array of influences including bluegrass and old-time banjo, blues, soul, funk, Afro-pop and Americana. His latest work incorporates banjo, guitar, ukulele and voice, making use of live looping, instrument changes, and layered vocal harmonies to create the rich sound of a full band with just one person, even when performing live solo shows. Wilson has contributed to documentary soundtracks, played in a wide array of groups nationally, and is a finely accomplished musician and student of music studies in both the States and Cuba with an emphasis on World Music. We are delighted to have him back to Still Cellars! Do yourself the honor of joining for a most fine eve!
