Research Intern : Housing

At Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Rārua our purpose is to create opportunity for the Ngāti Rārua iwi. With a renewed commitment to the strategy agreed at Settlement through its revision as Kia Pai te Noho 2020-2040 we are creating depth to our Pou Hononga (Social Pou) by seeking registration as a Community Housing Provider. 

At Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Rārua our aspiration is to provide integrated housing services and solutions for whānau throughout Te Tauihu. To be successful we need to understand our whānau and local community so that we can focus on the things that make the biggest difference to them, one whānau at a time.

Our Opportunity 

We currently have a summer intern opportunity for a 3rd or 4th year student studying a relevant degree. This role will work within the Rūnanga Housing team in Wairau at our Blenheim office over the summer period.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across a variety of agencies and community groups to assess and report on the housing need in Te Tauihu. The summer intern will be responsible for generating this knowledge with the support of the Rūnanga operations team. 
 

About You 

Key accountabilities of the role include:
  • Be responsible for running and completing the project to deliver knowledge of housing need in Te Tauihu to the Rūnanga 
  • Writing a project report on completion of the practical work 
To be successful in your application, you will have:
  • Excellent communication and written skills 
  • Project management ability and the ability to work autonomously 
  • The ability to work in Wairau for the duration of the internship 
  • Full NZ driver licence preferred
Applications for this position close on the 4th of December. The internship is due to start on the 11th of January and will be 10-12 weeks long depending on student availability.
