on form unlocked 2nd - 31st May
Dear Friends,
The time has come!
The sculpture is in, the stone numbers are out, and so (from time to time) is the sun! (Stone sculpture also looks gorgeous when glistening with raindrops, by the way, so no excuses, please.)
We hope you’ve already bought your tickets, and we are very much looking forward to opening our gates this Sunday, May 2nd. We will then remain open for the entire month of May, excepting Mondays and Tuesdays, but including the Bank Holiday on Monday 31st

When you book, you are given an hour in which to enter the exhibition, but we
ask you to consider others by limiting your visit to around two hours.

There’s a dodo in the porch, four fishes in the meadow, a giant knife and fork in the potting shed and numerous mischievous stone creatures that look as though they may come to life at any moment. There is beauty, and protest and tenderness. There are lots of fossils, and 73 different kinds of stone and marble. Altogether, we have 224 stone sculptures, more than we have ever had in the garden before.

The Potting Shed café will be serving tea, coffee, cordials, cakes and a few savoury snacks this year. All tables will be outdoors or in our airy tent.

We have four very special workshops, which allow early entry to the exhibition and a whole day to explore the garden and the sculpture through writing and painting:

Click here for details of Kieran Stiles’s painting workshops on 19th & 28th May  and Rebecca Hubbard’s creative writing workshops on 22nd & 23rd May.

For those who can’t make it to Asthall this year, all 224 sculptures will be on our website, with details and prices, from Sunday 2nd May.  We will try to make the online experience as enjoyable as possible. And, on our video page, we will post interviews with sculptors and visitors. Coming soon: a drone fly-through of this year’s exhibition.

We will be updating the website with news of what we’re up to, and you can follow us on Instagram

on form unlocked has had some lovely press already, which you can find here.

Hope to see you soon!
