Wallpaper Making Workshop
Hugh Dunford-Wood
2nd - 4th August

The course runs from Friday evening for a few hours to acclimatise, the other days run from 10 - 4 pm.  The course is wholly practical and hands on. There will be a natural progression from the kindergarten beginnings of print with potato cuts, to looking at some classic patterns and work out what makes them successful. Observational plant drawing is encouraged to then use as a basis for an original design. This will be then worked up in repeat, transferred in reverse onto a lino block that will be cut and printed.

My aim is to demonstrate how it is possible to embark on this adventure, with some ease and considerable enjoyment. There is no mystery, no technical know-how. It is all accessible and do-able by anyone who can wield a pencil. You don’t have to have particular drawing skills, or artistic bent, just a willingness to explore. You can see a detailed review of the course by Coast Magazine on my website

Accomodation available. For full details and to book, go to
