BHESCo 2020 Impact Report
Despite the challenges posed in 2020, BHESCo were delighted to reach a number of significant milestones including our first ground source heat project, our largest solar PV project, and our most successful share offer to date. The projects completed in 2020 will reduce carbon emissions by 2,505 tonnes over their lifetime, equivalent emissons to 2,700 TransAtlantic flights. Keeping Sussex safe and warm as temperatures reach freezing
BHESCo's energy advisers have been responding to very high numbers of residents needing help with energy costs as a result of lockdown, furlough, and sub-zero temperatures. Thanks in great part to BHESCo shareholders who donated their interest payment from 2020, we have been able to assist people with emergency top-up payments, energy efficiency improvements, high-efficiency radiators, and tariff switching advice. Now that's what we call putting the community in community energy!

The transition of 'off-the-gas-grid' rural communities from oil heating to a sustainable alternative is pivitol if the UK is to reach its climate commitments. For Earth Day 2021, BHESCo will host an online conference bringing together change-makers from around the country who are driving this transition. Please keep the evening free so you can join us in discovering what pioneering developments are afoot in this challenging field.

BLOG: International Women's Day 2021
Monday 8th March is International Women's Day 2021 and the theme this year is #ChooseToChallenge. In anticipation of this year's event, BHESCo have published an inspiring blog looking at how women around the world are rising to the challenge of the climate crisis.
2020 a landmark year for renewable energy in the UK
Last year renewable energy generated more power than fossil fuels for the first time ever in the UK. Solar and wind generated 30% of the country’s energy demand in 2020, showing strong progress towards the goal of delivering half of the UK's energy by 2025. Read more.
Green Homes Grant scheme a disaster
In the five months since its launch the Government's Green Homes Grant scheme has spent only 5% of the £1.5 million funding pot available. Some householders have been waiting months for the grants to be approved and installers say they have had to lay off staff because they are owed tens of thousands of pounds by the scheme. Read more
