Better bicycling is a great investment for GA.

Let our lawmakers know it!

This winter, our state legislature is tackling the complex issue of transportation funding. Everything is on the table. A recent report by a committee of state leaders recommends significant increases for transportation funding. We want to make sure that the bicycling projects you love - protected bike

lanes, bike-friendly shoulders and bridges, and paved trails like the Silver Comet - are a serious part of this conversation. No matter your age, ability, or reason for riding, we at Georgia Bikes believe that riding a bicycle in the Peach State should be safe, convenient, fun, and accessible

Now is our chance to secure funding to make that vision a reality for communities across the state.

See below for ways you can help share the message that a "A Vote for Bikes is a Vote for Me!"

Read a full description of the transportation funding issue and our recommendations for better bicycling in GA.
Sign our petition to state leaders urging them to dedicate modest - but meaningful -  funding for the planning and construction of quality bike lanes and trails.
Contact your state representative and senator and let them know that bicycle projects are good for Georgia and good for their district. Bike and pedestrian projects are cheap, they create jobs, they give people the opportunity to make healthy choices, and they are a proven technique for boosting local economies and attracting investment.

Join us for the 10th annual Ride to the Capitol!

Tuesday, March 24th

Thousands of people on bikes will descend on the state capitol building for our 10th anniversary Ride. We have a lot to celebrate from a decade of rallies at the capitol, and we need to bring our best crowd yet to show strong support for state investment in better bicycling. Check out GeorgiaRidestotheCapitol.org for details and registration.
If you use Twitter, share a photo of yourself enjoying your bike (or maybe a place you'd like to enjoy riding), tag @GABikes and your state elected officials (find their info here), and use the hashtag #VoteforBikesisVoteforMe
