In this issue...10th anniversary Ride to the Capitol and other upcoming Events...A Vote for Bikes is a Vote for Me...Bike Tourism...and more!

3 Cheers for 10 Years!

That's right. Our annual Ride to the Capitol event is having its 10th birthday this month. We hope you'll join us in Atlanta on March 24th to celebrate a decade of bike advocacy!

We have accomplished a lot since the first Ride, but there is still much to do: educating more drivers and bicyclists, encouraging more people to ride, and creating more safe places to ride. Toward that last goal, we hope you'll read more about our A Vote for Bikes is a Vote for Me! campaign underway at the state capitol. With your help, we'll be celebrating a victory at the Ride! Check out GeorgiaRidestotheCapitol.org for complete event details, or go ahead and register here. We hope to see you at the Gold Dome on the 24th!

We are a nonprofit organization promoting bicycling and improving bicycling conditions in Georgia.

Upcoming Rides & Events

Spring is almost here, and that means weekends chock full of great rides all over Georgia. We maintain an online calendar of rides and events that directly support bike advocacy in the state. Below are upcoming centuries and other events that directly support our work:

"Share the Road" tags support better bicycling in GA

For your other vehicle, please consider a "Share the Road" specialty tag when it's time to renew or purchase a new car tag. Funds from these tags directly support bicycle safety outreach and education throughout the state. The more people who get the tag, the more we can do!

Many thanks to all of you who have tags already. Let us know you have a tag and we'll make you an honorary member!

A Vote for Bikes is a Vote for Me!

State lawmakers are busily debating transportation funding mechanisms. We know that better conditions for bicycling will spur economic development, reduce urban congestion, build rural tourism, and create opportunities for people to make healthy choices. That's why we're calling on elected officials to dedicate a modest but meaningful portion of state transportation dollars to help build protected bike lanes, paved trails, and safe, family-friendly neighborhoods. Learn more about the campaign here, and please sign our petition to support the cause!

Use our Event Safety Signs for your Ride

If you're planning a century or other bike event for this spring, summer or beyond, consider signing up to be a Georgia Bikes Supporting Event. In exchange for a per rider donation, we'll promote your event and you'll be eligible to use our high quality event safety signs.
