Dear Partners,

Further to our recent announcement on the release of a BPCI newsletter, we have now completed the background work and have re-released the information formally sent to you via email in this new format.  Look out for more exciting updates from BPCI in the near future.

Digicel Williams International Race Meet

The Digicel Williams International was the first true test for the facility in terms of running a full race meet.  Understandably there were some challenges, most of which were behind the scenes and primarily of an operational nature which were quickly sorted once identified.  The new track itself got universal praise from the competitors, especially those visiting from the region who were seeing to for the first time.  It was unfortunate that the spectator volume was lower than expected, however those who were there saw one of the best group of competitive vehicles ever assembled for a circuit race meet in Barbados and the racing itself lived up to that potential.
As mentioned we did encounter challenges in terms of spectator attendance, however we have recognised various thing that influenced this and are addressing them proactively.  We are confident that our efforts will have positive results and look forward to sharing this with our partners in the future.

Radical Experience

On 23rd and 24th August from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m both days, Drive for Success along with BPCi will be hosting their "Radical Test/Demo Experience" where their new fleet of Radicals will be on show doing some hot laps and more.  Also, our local rally and race cars will also be out during an Invitational Club Track Day from 2 p.m on Sunday.  The Circuit will be open to spectators from 11am to 6pm on Sunday 24th ONLY but all corporate suites holders are invited to come and have a taste of the action, free of cost at any time between 9 and 6pm on both days.  Hope to see you all.

BADD Drag Racing

The Barbados Association of Dragsters and Drifters has chosen to delay their event scheduled from the 16th of August until the beginning of October. This is due to plans for a larger event that requires some additional planning.  Drag Racing continues to grow in popularity and we anticipate this will continue.  BPCI will also be doing its part to further develop this area of motorsport in the future with the addition of “bring your car and come days” catering to the car enthusiast.

International Events

Bushy Park Circuit Inc. continues to look at attracting international events similar to Top Gear Festival Barbados and has recently engaged Race of Champions (ROC) in discussion.  This is both an exciting and immense undertaking and we have been working towards the possibility of hosting this event on the 13th and 14th of December 2014. We will learn if we have been successful in our bid to host ROC in the coming weeks. Additional information can be found through the link here:

Soca Royal & Soca Titans

Bushy Park’s versatility as a venue has come to the fore with the recent hosting of Soca Royal and Soca Titans, two of the biggest productions for Crop Over.  Soca Royal, being held in its traditional location in the centre of the race facility, but taking full advantage of the much improved infrastructure.  Clearly from all reports the thousands of patrons enjoyed the show with the best of local talent on display.  Soca Titans was held in the Pit Paddock on the south side of the venue and was also a resounding success with patrons enjoying the sounds of an impressive line-up of entertainers with the night finishing to the lyrics of international superstar Machel Montano in the wee hours of the morning.
Bushy Park Circuit Inc. would like to thank you for your continued support.
