Mississippi College unveiled a refreshed brand mark and athletic logo, the latter of which recalls items of significance in Choctaw culture. Director of Marketing Stafford: "We needed a logo that our athletic teams could get behind, could be proud of, and could easily understand its meaning and history. We did not come up with the design on our own – it’s a reflection of our recently invigorated partnership with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. We had a concept in mind, and presented the logo to the MBCI. With their great blessing, we have this logo, which is an homage to our partnership and reminds everyone associated with MC of the strong and deep connection the University has with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians." Charleston AD Stevens visits @1QLeadership on the topic of staff professional development. Stevens provides 16 total sessions for her staff with programming in leadership, emotional intelligence, inclusion, and other topics. The conversation wraps on the NCAA Division II initiative which helps women and minorities get opportunities to become athletics directors. Stevens: "To be a great leader, you have to be a great leader of yourself first. ... I get the staff together so we can all improve together. ... We are all learning all the time." (link)
