Music Scholarships Available
The ILE Music Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications.

The ILE Music Scholarship Fund was created by Irma Louise English’s children to honor her, a lifelong Branch County resident with a zest for life and a passion for music. Besides showing their love and respect for their mother, her family wanted to offer a chance for students to have a positive musical experience just like they did. All of her children attended summer music camps, which created happy, lifelong memories.

The fund is currently accepting applications for summer 2018. Students of music in Branch County will find applications for the scholarship on the Foundation’s website at or by calling 517.278.4517. Applications are due by January 31, 2018.

Music professionals from throughout the county will serve on the selection committee.

Donations to the fund are welcomed and former Branch County residents from as far away as Alaska make annual donations in honor of Irma and the English family.

Coldwater Decoration Fund

One of the funds the Community Foundation holds that becomes quite visible this time of year is the Coldwater Decoration Fund. Established in 2001 as part of a community fundraising campaign, many of the decorations you see today were purchased then.
The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities spends between $6,000 - $7,000 annually checking and relamping all of the displays and within the past few years transitioned them to LED bulbs.  The City of Coldwater also refurbished the 17 ft Santa Claus that greets visitors at the four corners park and the two wreaths hanging from the Henry L Brown Building.

As the now 16 year old decorations begin to wear and require maintenance or replacement, the fund is accepting donations to help keep Coldwater festive during the holiday season.
