UKCCSRC Announces New Funding to 2022

Jon Gibbins, Director UKCCSRCThose of you who are at our London biannual meeting today will have just heard the good news that the UKCCSRC has been awarded funding to continue to support CCS research for another five years.
Celia Yeung, from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Fund (EPSRC) made the announcement that the EPSRC has given the centre £6.1M support, with the grant starting immediately.
The UKCCSRC will continue to operate the CCS community network, which has grown to over 1000 members, hold networking meetings, support early career researchers (ERCs) and develop international links. There will be some changes in the Centre going forward too, most notably the inclusion of a core research programme, as well as flexible funding for open research calls, which you can read about in the information sheet below.

The UK Carbon Capture and Storage Research Centre (UKCCSRC) announced today, that it has been awarded £6.1M by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to continue its work for the next five years. The goal for this next phase of the UKCCSRC is to ensure that Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) will play an effective role in reducing net CO2 emissions while securing affordable and controllable electricity supplies, low carbon heat and competitive industries for the UK. Read more
