Highlights from Yesterday

“It’s very helpful to talk to people about these resources. They won’t be any good if we don’t have feedback from people using it.”

During Hundreds of stories, one place to start: NYC Health Data, we learned all about NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s open data work. They introduced us to some of their tools, like Epiquery, Community Health Profiles, and the Environment and Health Data Portal, and discussed how we can use them to advocate for health equity in our communities. Staff also noted that speaking with the people using their resources is the best way they can make sure their work serves the people. And in this vein, shared an opportunity for providing feedback along with some other calls to actions. See below!
