Spring has Sprung!

Welcome to April, everyone! While we've been waiting for the weather to play catch-up, we've been getting our new programs for April, May and June ready for the community. Guides are being delivered soon, so keep an eye on your mailbox!

This Spring, we will be featuring some brand new programs, as well as workshops and introductory sessions for some of our classes. As always, you can sign up on our website, over the phone, or in person during our regular office hours.

Things to Do

We have a few new classes for you to sink your teeth into starting this April!

For the authors among you, Bethany Gibson is hosting a program designed to provide constructive feedback for your manuscripts.

We're also starting some group music sessions for children and adults with additional needs, headed up by Nigel Harris and Lyse Cote.
If your kids are looking for something to do, why not try some of our workshops? On April 6th, we're hosting a free K2 Martial Arts session before classes kick off, and on April 12th we'll be spending the afternoon making puppets with Mike DeRushie.

If that all seems too busy, then don't worry - our weekly mindfulness meditation circle is the perfect place to unwind after a hectic week!

Food Talks

Christine Garland, owner of the Union St. Kitchen Café, was our guest on a cold, snowy evening in early March. She joined us for a wide-reaching discussion on how she got into the business, her philosophy of food and the art of living well. It was a truly interesting evening with a woman who offers so much to our community!

Our next talk, on April 11th, will see Chris Penton from the Beechwood Market joining us in a discussion about the importance of local markets in our neighbourhood.

A Taste of Spring

This beloved community event is back! A roving cocktail party featuring food and wine pairings in gorgeous local homes, we invite you to sample a Taste of Spring with us! Only a limited number of tickets will be sold, so look out for them at Books on Beechwood and the Nectar Centre from May 1st!

Community Art Gallery

We're excited to open up our gallery to budding artists in the community - no matter your age, profession or medium! If you would like to submit one of your pieces for display in the Community Gallery in May and June, please contact for an information package.

Our toddler soccer program is back! Registration will open on April 3rd after 10:00am and stay open until 6:00pm on April 14th. Make sure to check our social media for a direct link, or look here. As always, we're on the lookout for volunteer coaches to make this season the most fun yet, so get in touch to find out how you can help!
On May 6th the CCC will be hosting a neighbourhood bike rodeo! It's a great way for kids to learn some essential biking skills and the rules of the road. Nectar will be providing the BBQ and the cool drinks, so set the date for a fun afternoon with the whole family!

Have Your Say

We are inviting the community to participate in a discussion about the future of New Edinburgh House on April the 18th. Please find our letter from the board regarding this matter here.
