Happy New Year from Nectar!

A happy new year to all of our community members from all of our staff, board members and volunteers at the centre. The winter break has left us feeling refreshed and ready to go as we roll out our programming for 2017!

This year we are excited to launch the Nectar Café, a warm and welcoming space where neighbours can meet up to enjoy some hot drinks, delicious goodies, and excellent company. January's café will be open on Friday the 20th, so drop by our Community Room between 11:15 and 1:30, or 6:30 and 7.30, to say hello!

Our Food Talks got off to a great start this year as Scott Adams, head chef at Benny's Bistro, shared some tasty treats and insider info with us!

Our next talk is on February 7th, where Kyle Cruikshank of Pure Kitchen lets us know the ins-and-outs of being a vegan restaurateur. Stop in at 7.30 with your fellow foodies, or contact the centre to find out more.
Looking for the perfect way to say thank you for the gifts you got last year? We have the cards for you! These cards by John Jarrett show off the beauty of our community throughout the seasons, so drop by our office to get your set today!
We are still taking registrations for our January classes, so if you're interested in picking up a new skill, sticking to some fitness goals, or just looking to have fun, visit to find the program that's right for you!

Volunteer Opportunities
Here at Nectar, we love our volunteers! With tons of opportunities to get involved in our programming and day-to-day operations, we're bound to have something that an eager volunteer is looking for, such as:
  • Afterschool Support - the perfect position for a high school student in need of some volunteer hours. Our volunteer would help afterschool staff with games, snack prep and clean-up.
  • Lumière Organizing Committee - Planning, Administration, Media, Volunteer Coordination, Artist and Performer Liaison, Site Planning, Labyrinth Design and much, much more is needed to make the Festival happen each year.  Please consider joining the team!
A full list of volunteer positions can be found here. We are happy to provide references and fill out paperwork to show that our volunteers have contributed to the community centre. Please contact us for more information at, or 613.745.2742.
Nectar would like to thank all of its new members for 2017 for joining us this year, as well as our long standing supporters. Through your generosity, we will be able to expand our programming and provide opportunities for the community.

To learn more about becoming a member, contact our office or click here. If you're interested in helping our membership drive continue to be a success, please check out our volunteer opportunities to see how you can contribute!
