10. World Future Day
To help make March 1st Future Day more international, The Millennium Project conducts a 24 hour conversation around the world via video conferencing. 2019 was the sixth year we have done this. Volunteers facilitate the open conversation on the future of civilization at 12 noon in their time zone. This is done in cooperation with the World Futures Studies Federation, Association of Professional Futurists, Humanity+, World Academy of Art and Science, and Millennium Project Node chairs and co-chairs around the world. Happy to have volunteers and sponsors for 2020 World Future Day. Here’s the link for 2019.

11. Global Think Tank Index
Although we dropped down to 24th place on Best New Idea or Paradigm and to 49th place on Best Quality Assurance and Integrity Policies and Procedures in the Go To Think Tank Index for the University of Pennsylvania, it is not too bad when you consider it was among about 6,600 think tanks considered and we don’t have a PR department and budget like others on the list.

The Millennium Project is a global participatory think tank connecting 65 Nodes around the world that identify long-range challenges and strategies, and initiate and conduct foresight studies, workshops, symposiums, and advanced training. Its mission is to improve thinking about the future and make it available through a variety of media for feedback to accumulate wisdom about the future for better decisions today. It produces the State of the Future reports, the Futures Research Methodology series, the Global Futures Intelligence System (GFIS), and special studies. Over 4,500 futurists, scholars, business planners, and policy makers who work for international organizations, governments, corporations, NGOs, and universities have participated in The Millennium Project’s research, since its inception, in 1992 and founding in 1996. The Millennium Project was selected among the top ten think tanks in the world for new ideas and paradigms by the 2013 through 2018 University of Pennsylvania’s GoTo Think Tank Index, and 2012 Computerworld Honors Laureate for its contributions to collective intelligence systems.
