What's Happening at Unity
FLY-UP CEREMONY – THIS COMING SUNDAY, SEPT 13
Our youth will have their annual Fly-Up ceremony this coming Sunday, Sept. 13 to celebrate the beginning of a new youth education year. We’re meeting in person, and you’re welcome to join us.
WED. NIGHT DISCUSSION/SHARING GROUP
The “Come As You Are!” discussion/sharing group meets Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm via a Zoom video call. We are exploring ideas and enlightening suggestions from Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff by Richard Carlson, as well as having open discussion and sharing of what is present in our lives. An email with a link to join the meeting by Zoom video is sent each Wednesday. If you’d like to join the discussion but aren’t on our email list, please contact the office.
CROP HUNGER WALK – SEPT 27 AT CLAY TOWNSHIP PARK
Walk, give, change the world! The annual St. Joseph County CROP Hunger Walk interfaith fundraiser is a great way to assist local food banks and provide more food security around the world. This year, each church will walk separately rather than as a large group. The Unity team will walk at Clay Township Park on Sunday, Sept 27, at 11:30am. You may register as a walker and ask people to sponsor you with a financial donation or you may sponsor a walker with your donation. See Susan Zook with any questions.
UPDATED APP FOR UNITY OF MICHIANA
Our free phone app has been redesigned and is ready for you to use! If you already have the app, all you need to do is open it to get the update. Don’t have it? Just text “UOMSC APP” to 77977.
HELPFUL RESOURCES DURING COVID-19
Indiana has launched a Be Well Crisis Helpline to support state residents during the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery. If you or someone you know needs to talk to an experienced counselor trained to help with stress/anxiety issues triggered or worsened by COVID-19, call 2-1-1, and follow the prompts. Rev. Sandie is also available for counseling. Please call her to make an appointment. For 24/7 prayer support, contact Silent Unity toll free at 816-969-2000.
WE’VE REOPENED–LIVESTREAMS ARE ALSO CONTINUING
We are having in-person Sunday services and are also continuing to livestream. For those who choose to come, our first priority is keeping everyone safe and healthy, so we’re following recommended best practices, including the appropriate precautions for social distancing. We ask you to please diligently follow these protocols.
