Next Meeting – Becoming A World Heritage City
Thursday, September 3
At 8:00 AM
Center for Architecture | 1218 Arch Street
Global Philadelphia, in partnership with the Mayor's Office, is working to gain membership for Philadelphia in the Organization of World Heritage Cities, all of whose members have monuments designated by UNESCO as World Heritage sites. Independence Hall is such a site. Philadelphia will be the first American city to join this elite group, and membership will bring new opportunities to broaden appreciation of our cultural resources here at home and around the world. Members of the project team will report on the process and how they are making "the case for Philadelphia." Read more on PBJ: Philadelphia to become first World Heritage City in U.S.
