Wisdom Exchanges, Paris, the Dalai Lama and a better way forward
Tragedy struck in Paris. Coincidentally, the terrorist attacks that galvanized the attention and emotions of the World occurred one day after our Boca Raton Wisdom Exchange and the day before our New Smyrna Beach event. While we came together in Florida to find ways to collectively improve our ways of learning from and relating to each other, we were reminded — tragically — of how far we have to come. And how much we need to find ways to better understand each other and strengthen connections.
The pain is all too real, despite occurring thousands of miles away from most of us. Our need for solutions grows ever greater with each tragic atrocity. We wish for better. The Dalai Lama reminds us that we can not get by with only wishing or praying for better relations.
By happenstance, our Wisdom Exchange events provided a forum for exploring how to better relate to each other in light of World events and our own ongoing personal and community-level needs.
We’ve got a few ideas. And we invite you to share yours. Please take a moment to visit with us. We’ll go first, please read WiseTribe founder Jacqueline Botting’s most recent blog post, Wisdom Exchange reflections: We need all of us.
Thank you for sharing your time, positive energy and collective wisdom.
