FESTIVAL DIRECTOR / CEO ROLE
 

Sheffield Doc/Fest is inviting applications for the role of Festival Director / CEO.
The previous incumbent Heather Croall has grown Doc/Fest into a leading event in the film and TV calendar, and we’re looking for someone to build on the work she has done. The new CEO will be responsible for keeping Doc/Fest one step ahead of its international competitors.
We are looking for applicants regarded as international leaders in the documentary industry, with exceptional management, leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
 
The deadline for applications is Friday 6 March at 10:00 GMT.

ARRI SHORT FILM CHALLENGE

 
ARRI and Sheffield Doc/Fest are thrilled to announce an exciting new competition for filmmakers to create a short doc using ARRI's latest AMIRA camera.

Five finalists will attend Sheffield Doc/Fest in June to make their short documentary with the latest AMIRA Camera + sounds kit and editing software. All five films will be screened at the Doc/Fest Awards Ceremony.

One winner will be awarded £2000 cash and a complimentary three day lighting course at ARRI HQ in London.

FIRST ROUND OF PITCH OPPORTUNITIES NOW LIVE

Sheffield Doc/Fest 2015 will feature a large range of pitch opportunities, offering thousands of pounds in funding and in-kind support for development, production and placements.

The first of our pitch opportunities for this year's Festival are now live:

BFI Film Fund Pitch - offering documentary film funding from the BFI Film Fund.

Channel 4 First Cut Pitch - a First Cut commission offer, plus mentorship and training.

MEETMARKET & CROSSOVER MARKET SUBMISSIONS

The MeetMarket and Crossover Market are open for documentary filmmakers and interactive media-makers to pitch the most innovative projects to the world's key funders and experts at the 2015 Festival.

MeetMarket is a flexible format of pitching that can accommodate all kinds of projects, filmmakers and media-makers, with Crossover Market offering a focused pitching opportunity for projects which are led by digital or interactive media.

BFI FAN MEMBERS DISCOUNT

Sheffield Doc/Fest is proud to be working with BFI Film Audience Network to offer a number of discounted Full Festival passes to BFI FAN members.

The BFI Film Audience Network will also be hosting a reception at this year’s Festival to connect with exhibitors from around the UK.

BFI FAN members pass rate is £149+VAT with a limited number of passes available.

INTERACTIVE FILMMAKING WORKSHOPS

As part of a series of six interactive filmmaking workshops with Crossover Labs, we're heading to Stoke Your Fires on March 6.

We'll be joined by Popathon, an international series of hackathon events bringing together digital storytellers, technologists and designers to prototype the future of web-native storytelling.

The workshop will be taking place at Mitchell Arts Centre, with tickets available for £25+VAT.
