We've Reached An Incredible Milestone!

EcoTHRIVE Housing is thrilled to announce that the Washington State Housing Finance Commission recently awarded us a $685,000 supportive loan (at 1% interest) to build our pilot Resilient Village!

Through their Land Acquisition Program (LAP), the Housing Commission selectively facilitates purchases for developers who are building affordable housing. This award allows us to purchase the 1.8 acres of land we have under contract and keep to our timeline for developing our first Resilient Village. Our move-in date is scheduled for 2025, and we are in active conversations with philanthropists and lenders to generate the rest of the funding we need.

This stamp of approval from the Commission validates our mission and gives a powerful boost to our ongoing efforts. This is a BIG WIN for ecoTHRIVE, our partners, and most importantly the community who’ll benefit from this paradigm shift in housing!

We want to take time now to send gratitude to all our friends, supporters, and advocates who made this remarkable milestone possible. Together, we're creating a new model for housing in the Pacific Northwest.

Let’s continue to build community, together!

It takes a village...

EcoTHRIVE has advanced our vision to reality. We now have land, funding, and the team we need to advance our paradigm shift in housing. In the coming weeks, we will share stories and successes in 2022 as we look ahead to breaking ground on our pilot village.

It takes a village to disrupt the housing paradigm. Please make a meaningful donation today to propel ecoTHRIVE's success into the new year. We seek to raise $50,000 and every dollar and every donation counts.

When we listen deeply to people's stories and are inspired to take action, transformative things can happen! Come celebrate the power of community!

In 2016, we began painting Unity flags with people throughout King County and asked them what they need to thrive. Through hundreds of conversations, people said we need things that feed our bodies: food, water, shelter and things that feed our souls: beauty, nature, community.  So we are building housing in Burien that centers community in a beautiful, affordable and resilient village that will thrive in a changing climate.  Join us!

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO

We've found our site and signed a purchase and sale agreement. The beautiful 1.8-acre property is in Boulevard Park, Burien. Over the next couple of months, we will be finalizing the purchase process!

We have an architect! We're excited to announce that we hired James Raptis in July to work with us on developing our pilot resilient Village. James has generously shared his expertise with ecoTHRIVE early on in development and we're glad to have him formally on our team!
Introducing Dara Ith, our development advisor. Dara joined us last February and is leading our project management team and lending us her over 30 years of real estate development experience.

Learn more about Dara & her firm Utopia Design + Develop.

We've launched our giving circle! We are working to raise $1.5 million over the next few months so that we can kick off the design development phase! Join us in creating this paradigm shift that creates affordable housing connected by community. Click here to donate.
