Curious about recycling at Tufts? Receive a recycling training!

Ever wondered whether that spiral notebook could be recycled? Curious about what to do with your grocery bags? Looking for a place to recycle batteries? Sign-up to receive a recycling training with the Office of Sustainability’s recycling team!
We give trainings to all different campus groups, including academic departments, administrative divisions, staff teams, residence halls, and student groups/clubs. To sign-up or get more information, please complete this brief form and we will be in touch.
How are we doing?

Waste audit data from last semester indicated that about 20% of the recycling was contaminated with non-recyclable trash items. We would like to decrease this to 10% or less across campus!

To help with this mission, keep in mind the following rules:

1.Keep recyclables clean, dry, and free of any food or liquid!

2.Soft plastics such as grocery bags, bubble wrap, and chip bags do not belong in the recycling bins

3.Paper-based hot beverage cups are not recyclable in Massachusetts!
Get Involved with Recycling at Tufts!

Want to get more involved with recycling initiatives at Tufts? Join our on-call workers program! On call workers are students who are paid to help with campus zero waste events, student move-in, student move-out, and other recycling related tasks throughout the year!
