Busking Competition & Circuit

Friday Night Busking Competition
We are strong believers and supporters of busking and so 2018 saw the inaugural Nannup Music Festival Busking Competition. For 2019 we have six entrants: Ayden, Tori-Rae, Nathan Coleman, Volatus, Dan Oltmans and Jon Stapleton, each in the running for incredible prizes.
Winners will be selected from an industry pool of judges.

1st Prize:
Invitation to perform at our 2020 Festival PLUS entry in the 2019 Nannup Emerging Artists Award

2nd prize:
Entry into the 2019 Nannup Emerging Artists Award

Busking Circuit
Buskers are a precious part of Festivals and we love supporting them however we can. Hidden treasures they are. For 2019, we have two local cafes on board and have programmed acts at each: Melo Velo and the Blackwood Café. Our Blackwood Stage in the Food Court will have a great mix of Buskers, Albany TAFE performers and Bunbury’s Rock N Roll High… And of course the wonderful impromptu buskers throughout the festival and town.

Green Steps

Our Festival takes place in the precious area of Australia's South West. As a local community event, we strongly feel the responsibility of minimising our environmental impact and creating opportunities to raise awareness on environmental issues. The NMF engages directly with the challenge of environmental sustainability through its Green Steps Initiative. Our aim is to take a few green steps each year and to keep the Nannup Music Festival at the forefront of environmentally friendly event management.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

  • BYO water bottle and cup.
  • Refill them at our water refill stations.
  • Refill your cup at our festival bars or purchase one of our reusable branded cups.
  • BYO crockery and cutlery.
  • Ask our stallholders for environmentally friendly serving and packaging options or use your own.
  • If you're a stallholder, use environmentally friendly serving and packaging options.
  • Use our new main food court wash-down station for your festival meals, equipped with reusable cutlery and crockery. Please note that this is a trial project and that we aim to grow it and eventually offer you a completely plastic free festival food court! Oh yeah.
  • Refuse plastic bags.
  • Refuse plastic straws.
  • Avoid glitter and balloons.
  • Leave no trace around the festival site and campgrounds.
  • Use the right bin for your waste as well as the free Keep Australia Beautiful bags offered at our Festival Campground and Artists Camping.
  • Share a ride to the festival.
  • Please, no campfires. Our festival takes place during a total or restricted fire ban.
  • Please take care on the trip to and from the festival when driving; the wildlife is precious and abundant...

'The Shire of Nannup welcomes you to town for the festival weekend.
We hope that you will have a great time.
Please note that the Shire Ranger will be undertaking patrols throughout the weekend.
Please camp in designated areas and note that campfires are not permitted.
Please ensure that dogs are on a lead. There are doggie bags located throughout town for you to clean up their mess.
