The 2016 Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Conference & Guangzhou International Innovation Festival
The Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Conference and Guangzhou International Innovation Festival is the ideal witness to joint efforts of cities around the world to build a better future. This year, the Conference will take place 5-8 December 2016 and will announce the winners of the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation.
During the Urban Innovation Seminar held in Bogota in the framework of the UCLG World Summit, the shortlisted cities for the 3rdGuangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (Guangzhou Award) were announced, which include Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Asuncion (Paraguay), Boston (United States), Brussels (Belgium), Copenhagen (Denmark), Jakarta (Indonesia), La Paz (Bolivia), Luleburgaz (Turkey), Malang (Indonesia),Menashe (Israel), Qalyubeya (Egypt), Ramallah (Palestine), Songpa-gu (Korea), Tampere (Finland) and Tlajomulco de Zuñiga (Mexico).
The aim of the Guangzhou Award is to recognize innovation in improving social, economic and environmental sustainability in cities and regions and, in so doing, to advance the prosperity and quality of life of their citizens.
