Our visit to two Indian tea farms in Assam and Darjeeling were educational and inspiring. Both owners are passionate and respectful about the environment and the animals that live there. They allow elephants, whose habitat is increasingly diminished in this region, to use their tea farms as a corridor. Both produce healthy tea and care deeply for their employees. The Bodo Black and Green come from the Assam farm. Watch as we bring tea from the Darjeeling farm to our tea line!
Care for the environment and people was a pattern evident at the Indonesian farm, too. The organic farm uses lemongrass as a repellent. Their participation in the 1,000 Eyes project put glasses on hundreds of their employees and their families – good vision is a beautiful gift. Their next project will deliver dental care to their employees and the surrounding villages. Keep this in mind when you drink the Mammoth Red (our pillar black tea), Halimun Mountain Green and Java Medium Roast Oolong.
It feels good and makes us proud to work with such altruism and goodwill.
