You are receiving this newsletter because you are a wonderful Slot Car Corner Canada customer. This means you made a purchase or created an account on our website. See the link at the bottom of the newsletter to be removed from our list or to update your subscription information.

The March newsletter will be shorter than usual because the whole Slot Car Corner crew is currently in preparation for the annual Michigan 24 endurance race on March 21-22, on the great Clover Leaf Raceway in Fenton MI.

With our car being equipped with SCC performance parts and our new Quick Slicks Extra-Firm silicone tires, we will have the goal (besides having a lot of fun!) of breaking our own world record (again!) by running more than 271,71 miles in 24 hours with the same car (that's more than 5 meters/second!). Team Slot Car Corner (Steve, Mike, Kurt, Georges and Christian) is ready for the battle. Stay tuned for the results !

Since I'll be away from home between March 19th to March 23rd for the race, orders placed after 6:00PM on March 18th won't be shipped until March 24th. Thank you for your understanding.

Get a FREE 2015 Slot.It Parts Catalog

I was able to get a few copies of the printed Slot.it Parts Catalog (2015 Edition). Those are not easy to obtain and are a fantastic reference for everything Slot.it makes available for slot car racers like you. The printed catalog is high-quality material that you'll want to keep close to your workbench at all times. Since I only was able to get a few of these, you'll have to earn them. :-)

I will put one of those catalogs (along with a brochure for 2015 Slot.it cars) in the box with the first 8 orders that include at least a Slot.it car with a total amount of $100 or more (before taxes and shipping). Also, don't forget to ask for it in the Comments box when ordering. Finally, the winner of the 2015 SCC Canada Proxy Race will also get one.

You can download the PDF version on the Slot.it website, right here.

Martini Umbrella Girl from Racer

Racer has announced the imminent release of a new grid girl. After Alexandra, Beatrice, Carole and Dania in JPS colors, a still-unnamed grid girl showing the Martini colors under her Martini umbrella will soon make its apparition. The 1/32-scale figurine will come with a stand and the umbrella.

We already have many pre-orders for this new product and quantities will be limited. Please make sure you place your pre-order if you want to add one to your track environment. As with all pre-orders, you don't have to pay now, only when the item is ready to be shipped.

SCC Canada Proxy Race - Starting Soon !

The all-Canadian proxy race, using Canadian products (MR Slotcar cars, CB Design wheels, Paul Gage tires), for Canadian racers on Canadian tracks will start in a few weeks. Racers all across the country are now in the final stages of testing and tuning their Mazda 787B and everyone discovered a great running car in the process.

The deadline for sending the cars in is April 3rd, 2015. The first round will happen soon after in Québec and the cars will then travel to the west, making a stop in most provinces in between. Follow the preparation and the race right here at www.canadaslotcar.com.

If you missed the race but want to experiment with this great Canadian car, we still have them in stock and we also have many parts available if you want to tune the car to your own preferences. Many Slot.it and Slot Car Corner parts are also compatible with MR Slotcar cars. If you prefer not to paint the car yourself, the black Test Car is still available in large quantities at a reduced price (almost $15 off the retail price!).

Try Our Lubrication Products

If you have not tried our lubrication products yet, you owe it to yourself (and your cars) to try the Super Lube synthetic oil, the Super Lube grease and the INOX MX-3 lubricant. Of course, all those products will cause no harm to plastic, metal or painted parts.

Use the grease on gears to make sure everything is running smoothly, put some synthetic oil around the bushings and the front axle carriers to reduce friction of the axles. You can also use a drop of oil where the motor shaft is coming out of the motor can and around the guide holder, to eliminate any friction. Finally, we use the INOX MX-3 lubricant for the braids, preventing them from wearing too fast, on the car and on the track.

Over 2,000 Slot.It Items In Inventory !

As time goes on, we're always adding to our already impressive Slot.it inventoryby far the largest in Canada. If you're looking for spare tearproof parts, EVO6 chassis, gears, guides, motors, transparent parts, electronic accessories, HRS parts, motor mounts, axles, conversion kits, tires, wheels, inserts, etc., chances are good we have them in stock. Modify your cars to make them faster, easier to drive or just plain more fun. We have what it takes. And if we don't, just ask us and we'll be able to add the missing part to our inventory pretty fast.

Quick Slicks Silicone Tires - Extra-Firm Compound

Quick Slicks are high-performance silicone tires for 1:32 slot cars. They are designed to be an easy, affordable upgrade to improve your car’s performance. And we just introduced a new Extra-Firm Compound. This is the compound we'll use for the Michigan 24 an we have great confidence in its performance and durability.

Will you have Quick Slicks tires for Carrera, Fly or other brands of cars?

We certainly will. The first batch of Quick Slicks tires were already compatible with some of those cars. And new molds are now used to produce brand new sizes of tires. Those tires are on their way to me right now and should be in stock very soon. In order to assist you in identifying which wheels or cars fit a given Quick Slicks tire, we offer an exclusive Quick Slicks Tire Selector, easy to use. You can also consult our Quick Slicks Fitment Chart, if you prefer a paper reference. Still not sure which Quick Slicks tires you need for a particular application? Drop us an email and we’ll do our best to assist you.

Difalco Controllers - We Have Them All

With the release of two lower-cost models, many racers have discovered the joy of using a Difalco controller in the last few months. Those controllers are used by 90% of the racers at the Michigan 24 endurance race and other big races we participate in. I used a lot of controllers since I started slot car racing 15 years ago. Difalco is the one I always go back to. Always!

They're quality products, performance-oriented, easy to maintain, with great adjustment knobs. Most models can also be customized by using a custom resistor network, replacing the standard power curve of the trigger. From the DD300 to the DD304, you will find a Difalco controller that will suit your driving needs and your budget.

Our Comparison Chart will help you choose the right one. And they're all in stock now. If you prefer Slot.It controllers, we also have those in stock.

Clearance Items - Great Deals !

Super Tires added rounded shoulders on their most popular models. Slot.it has released a revised LMP Screw Mount Guide and now has lightened spur gears. We have bags of older Slot.it tires that need to find a good home. This is where our Clearance Items section can be useful for you. You will find great deals if using the next-to-last version of a product is not essential to your project.

THE CARS THAT WERE ADDED THIS PAST MONTH

Here's a list of new cars that weren't on our shelves when our last newsletter was sent out in February. We also have gotten back in stock a lot of other cars from Slot.it, Racer and SRC, particularly those from the Racer Sideways Group 5 Series.

We also hope to receive the first MR Slotcar McLaren F1 GTR cars in the next few weeks, starting with the «Contender» series. Let's cross our fingers.

Of course, we also have a lot more cars in stock so feel free to browse our inventory to find the one that will catch your eye and/or make you the next race winner in your club! Click here for the complete list.

Slot.It - Porsche 956KH - Mugello 1983 - #12

The Porsche 956 and later 962 models could be assembled with two different rear wing configurations: “low downforce”, used mostly in Le Mans where the 6.5 km Hunaudières straight required a very low drag at the expense of downforce; and “high downforce”, for twistier circuits. Regardless of the configuration, Porsche 956 and 962 cars were the cars to beat in any Group C competition in the early 80's.

Gianpiero Moretti prepared and led a team with a Porsche 956 (chassis No.105) to race the 1000 km of Mugello in 1983. The classic New Man livery was camouflaged with extensive use of red adhesive tape to reproduce the Momo livery. After obtaining the seventh place in qualifying, the race ended when the body of the car, running sixth, was damaged following a puncture. In addition to Moretti, No.12 car was driven by German drivers Dieter Schornstein and Volkert Merl.

Model CA09f comes with a new Porsche 956KH body, weighting only 17.5g.

Slot.It - Alfa Romeo 33/3 - Targa Florio 1971 - #2

The Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Sport Prototype was designed in the mid 1960s to race in the World Sports Car Championship. Eventually it succeeded and won the Manufacturers' Championship in 1975, and again in 1977. Designed by Carlo Chiti, a famous Italian engineer, the several variants of the car were raced by the Alfa factory and by many privateers as well.

After the initial victories in the 2-litre Prototype category, the 'T33/3' version made its debut in 1969 and gained its best results in the 1971 World Championship. The Autodelta 'open' Prototypes won the overall ranking at Brands Hatch, Watkins Glen and the Targa Florio, being even faster than the 5-litres 'Sport' cars.

The 'T33/3' cars featured a monocoque chassis, paneled in aluminium and magnesium, a V8 2998 cc engine, and a 6 or 5 speed gearbox. Top speed reached 330 km/h, at Le Mans with long tail.

In 1971, the most important victory for Alfa Romeo was the Targa Florio race, where two 'T33/3's finished first and second. The race was won by Nino Vaccarella and Toine Hezemans on car no.5, followed by car no.2 driven by Andrea de Adamich and Gijs van Lennep.
