Our New Vision for Renewable Energy in Sheffield

We want to raise £500,000 to install as much solar PV across the city as possible.
We will do this through a new share offer. However before we can raise the money, we need at least 3 new sites.

Our Solar team of volunteers have looked at most of the schools in Sheffield and assessed the potential. We hope to talk to the Council about  installing on the best roofs.
Do you know of any community building that could benefit? Please let us know.
We are also busy looking to find the funding for a new manager to help with the share offer.

Paces First Year Generation Beats Prediction

Our first solar PV scheme at Paces, High Green Development Trust, has just completed its first year of generating clean, renewable electricity.  It generated 41,870 kWh – the predicted amount was 37,500 kWh.  This represents a carbon saving for the year of 18,423 kg. See more here.

Swinton Fitzwilliam Solar Project

Our second solar array was installed at Swinton Fitzwilliam school at the end of October 2014. Our latest installation funded through community shares is a 50kW solar photovoltaic array, with 200 panels providing solar power to a primary school of 330 pupils. By the end of 2014 it had already generated over 2000 kWh of electricity. See more here.

Dearne Valley Eco Vision Peer Mentoring Scheme

We have worked in the Dearne Valley offering support and advice to the new project.

Join the Green Homes Sheffield Team

They are a community organisation which helps local people make their homes more comfortable and more energy efficient. We run open homes events at homes that have been upgraded so the public can see what’s involved and ask householders about their experiences. Alongside this we help people find trusted local companies to do the
work. For more information see here.
