Apologies for another delayed issue! Brian was fighting both travel and being sick. 🤒Please, help us get the word out by sharing CodaBreaker with a friend or tweeting about us @codabreaker!

You can catch all of the picks in this issue on this week's playlist. New to Coda Breaker? A reminder that all of song picks from our archives are available at

New Music

Some of our favorite recent releases.

Jai Wolf

To me, this song sounds like what would happen if you blended the guitar from "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" with "MagiCat" - and I love it! Seriously, I don't know why, but this song has been on repeat for me (especially while running).

More to Life

Albert Hammond, Jr

A completely new to me artist with an interesting voice. The song has an interesting beat as well. Overall, just plain interesting. ;)

Brian recommends...

Purple Skies

Kornél Kovács

I am still going through some kind of extended chill phase and this song hits the spot.

Ray recommends...

Florence + the Machine

To be honest I had completely forgotten about this band - seems like forever since I've heard a track by them and this was an incredibly welcome surprise.

New to You and Throwbacks

These are some our favorites that are not necessarily new.

Brian recommends...

Turn the Light

Karen O & Danger Mouse

This is actually quite new but I include it here because many of you may likely have already heard it since this album has had plenty of airplay - but that doesn't make it any less awesome.

Ray recommends...

Phoenix of My Heart

Clan of Xymox

I remember distinctly the first time I heard this song. I was in a record store (remember those?) and they had this out as a sample. This is a bit more "dancy" then most of their music but if you've never listened to them you should definitely check out more of their tracks.

Brian recommends...

Luz Azul

Los Aterciopelados

Sticking with the Latin music throwbacks, this song from 2009 by Cucu Diamantes is fun and a bit insane. The whole album was brilliant, and then Cucu hasn't released much of anything since 😔

Ray recommends...

Wild Thing

Jimi Hendrix

So if you listened to my last pick, you'll know it riffs on "Wild Thing" towards the end of the track. I was going to include the original song by The Troggs, but couldn't pass up Hendrix.
